Sack Gantry or Sack Cableway: follow a load to the drum

The two transport upgrades serve different stretches of the trip. The Sack Cableway carries loads in from outdoors, while the Sack Gantry distributes full sacks to machines. Follow one sack from the pile to the receiving drum to see which part of your route still requires a trip on foot.

If the bottleneck is inside the machine room

The community automation reference says the gantry takes full sacks from the marked pickup area to the emptiest machine. Put one full sack inside that area and check for a receiver with room. A bag sitting alongside the zone, or one returned whole by a full hopper, can make a working gantry appear idle. You do not need to pick a destination drum yourself.

Find the long painted strip between the indoor machines and set a full sack inside it. Wait for the hook to lift the bag clear of the floor. The linked pickup photo shows the position of the strip relative to the hoppers. A separate Supply Directorate capture states that the gantry chooses the emptiest machine. Check the bag's location and receiver space before buying speed.

If most of the shift is spent walking from the yard

Consider the cableway when the slow leg is the trip from the outside pile to the bunker. Attach one sack and follow it to the receiving end before preparing more. Players also describe holding E on an attached cableway bag to hang on for the Unauthorized Passenger achievement. A loaded villager crate has a different interaction: hotfix 1.0.2 makes holding E on the crate send the shipment. Check which object your prompt belongs to.

Follow the cable outside to the large red wheel. Look underneath for the dangling hook and the rectangle painted on the ground. Set a full sack inside those boundaries and step clear to see whether it rises. For the ride achievement, approach an already attached sack while you can still reach it. Hold E on the bag; jumping onto the top before the hook has attached can disrupt the pickup.

Compare the budget with the work removed

A community price table from 1.0.1 records 280 for the gantry and 1,250 for the cableway. Check your terminal for live costs. If the drums regularly empty while you walk back from the pile, the outdoor leg deserves attention. If loads arrive at the bunker and form a queue beside free drums, finish the indoor route first. Recheck one round trip after the purchase before spending on another peeler.

The gantry dossier identifies three actions improved by later levels: travelling, hoisting and pouring. In the pictured menu the gantry is already 1/4 and the next level is 170; the unbought cableway reads 1,250. If the current Journal objective is Faster wire, inspect the cableway row instead. A faster indoor hook cannot fulfil a purchase objective that names the outdoor line.
