Test one sack with room in the hopper
Let the machine process some potatoes, or choose a different machine with visible space. Bring one full sack to the receiving opening and watch the center while feeding it. A load that goes in and a few potatoes on the floor calls for a different response than an entirely intact sack. Stop after the first delivery so you can see which happened.
Use the machine's receiver reading where visible. The gantry photograph shows 0/128 on an empty receiver; the upper limit in your setup may differ. Compare the reading before and after attempting to feed one load. A sack still on the hook while the receiver is full can wait. A hopper that accepted potatoes but produces nothing should be checked for a crank interaction or jam message.
A bucket spill is a separate case
A player using the Crank Peel Machine reported loose potatoes falling to the floor even when the load was aimed near the center. The developer change explicitly describes sacks. When testing a bucket, watch where loose pieces land and recover them before comparing the next load. The report does not establish a fixed number of potatoes lost per delivery.
For a repeatable bucket test, clear the floor in front of the hopper. Feed a small bucket with its lip over the opening and look down at its front edge. Next try a sack while the same hopper still has space. Record the container type, whether the receiver reading changed, and where the pieces landed. This keeps an existing floor spill out of your comparison.
If a single potato rolls back out
Hotfix 1.0.1 changed the response to cut potatoes that had been getting trapped in the peeling-machine hopper. A cut piece may roll back out unpeeled. Set it aside for manual finishing and try one intact raw potato to check the machine. If intact loads still fail in an available hopper, record the machine name, container type and what happened after contact.
Check the stage at which the piece stopped. A cut potato rejected at the input can be finished by hand. A Machine jammed message appears during processing: aim at the trapped potato in the drum and follow its pull-out prompt before feeding again. Return to the handle on a manual crank and watch one intact potato pass through.
